God's Household
Fellow Citizens in Christ

A Lenten church initiative rooted in Ephesians 2 — inviting congregations to recognize immigrant neighbors as fellow members of God's household and to embody Christ's peace through prayer, presence, and gospel-shaped solidarity.

“He Himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the dividing wall of hostility.”

Ephesians 2:14 NIV

About this initiative

In Christ, those who were once strangers are now members of his household.

The Apostle Paul writes in Ephesians 2:19 that because of Christ, those who were once strangers and foreigners are now “fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household.” God’s Household is a church initiative built on that declaration — the conviction that the Church’s identity as God’s household has direct implications for how it relates to immigrant neighbors.

He does not erase difference; He destroys hostility. He does not flatten identity; He forms one new people under His lordship. He gathers us into one household — built on grace, shaped by repentance, strengthened by faith, and governed by His Word.

Created by the National Latino Evangelical Coalition, this initiative offers sermon outlines, prayer resources, and practical tools to help your church participate in ways that fit your local context. It is not partisan. It is biblical. It is evangelical in the fullest sense of the word.
