Many of our immigrant neighbors in NE Ohio who are detained by ICE are sent to the Northeast Ohio Correctional Center (NEOCC) in Youngstown. NEOCC is a private, for-profit prison owned by Core Civic–a company that contracts with the US government to hold detainees.<\/p>\n

Despite the policy that states clergy are allowed to visit detainees at any time by coordinating with the chaplain’s office (https:\/\/www.ice.gov\/detain\/detention-facilities\/northeast-ohio-correctional-center)<\/a>, many clergy from our community have been repeatedly denied access to visit their own members in prison.<\/div>\n

On Saturday, May 30 at 1pm, we (people of faith from Cleveland and Youngstown) will hold a peaceful demonstration outside the entrance to NEOCC to make public our demand for open clergy visitation.<\/div>\n
