God’s Household: Prayer

abril 2026

This prayer resource for the God's Household initiative offers structured intercession for immigrant families and theological reflection on what it means to belong to one household in Christ. It is designed for small groups, prayer meetings, and personal devotion as an entry point into the initiative.

A Gospel Prayer for God’s Household

“For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility”

Ephesians 2:14

Holy and righteous God,
We come before You in humility,
confessing that apart from Christ,
we are lost, divided, and in need of Your mercy.

Your Word declares that Jesus Himself is our peace—
that through the cross,
You have made the two one
and destroyed the dividing wall of hostility.
We believe this gospel.
We submit ourselves to it.

Lord Jesus,
You did not avoid our broken world—
You entered it.
You took on flesh,
You bore our sin,
and You shed Your blood
to reconcile us to God
and to one another.

Forgive us, Father,
for the ways we have allowed fear to shape our witness,
for the ways we have trusted human power more than Your kingdom,
for the ways we have failed to love our neighbor
as You have loved us.

By Your Spirit,
bring us again to repentance—
not shallow sorrow,
but true turning of heart and life.
Form us into a people who live under the lordship of Christ
and the authority of Your Word.

We pray for immigrant families and those seeking refuge:
may they know Your protection and care.
We pray for children and parents walking in uncertainty:
be their hope and their help. We pray for pastors, caregivers, public servants, and communities:
grant wisdom, courage, and compassion.

Make us faithful witnesses to the gospel we proclaim.
Teach us to live as members of God’s Household—
welcoming as we have been welcomed,
loving as we have been loved,
standing for truth with humility and grace.

Out of two, make one—
not by erasing difference,
but by reconciling sinners
through the cross of Jesus Christ.

We place our trust not in ourselves,
but in Christ alone—
our Savior, our peace, and our King.

In the name of Jesus we pray.
Amen.
