SUMMARY:Haitian Solidarity Rally
DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday\, October 21\, we will begin a 4-day pilgrimage from Springfield to the Ohio Capitol in Columbus to elevate our response to attacks on the Haitian community and other immigrant communities in Ohio and across the nation. \nWill you join us? You can help send off the pilgrimage on Wednesday\, join us for all or part of the march\, and meet us in Columbus on Saturday. \nWe walk the national road to Columbus as an embodiment of the choice we have as a nation: Do we embody welcome\, love of neighbor and stranger\, mercy\, and justice? Or do we go the way of isolation\, fear\, and dehumanization? \nWe choose love of neighbor. \nThe walk will begin at 8 am on Wednesday\, October 21 at Springfield City Plaza and end at 1 pm on Saturday\, October 24 in Columbus. Please join us for the Rally at 1 PM at West Bank Park in Columbus at 1 PM on Saturday! \nThe Haitian community has 4 demands\, which we carry to the statehouse: \n\n\nOfficially end ankle monitor program. \n\n\nICE out of Springfield. \n\n\nReturn Haitian people in detention to their families\, including pastors. \n\n\nPermanent Protected Status for Haitian People. \n\n\nRegister here for any of the events and we will provide you with more information. Thank you for your solidarity.
